Hello all. We had a good gathering this morning as we finally were able to gather as a congregation. Today we celebrated Pentecost Sunday which was an appropriate Feast for a time such as this.
Please find this mornings service below.
Morning Prayer 7th Sunday of Easter
I hope you are all well. Today we celebrate the 7th Sunday of Easter, or the Sunday after Ascension as it was once known. The Feast of the Ascension took place on Thursday and so I speak about that event and it’s relevance for us in these days. We had another ‘congregation’ of 9 this morning which was very nice. I filmed the service at 9am which you will find today. Some Apologies as today’s video did not want to go into the editor, so I have ended up with an unedited video. But at least the video has worked.
Please find this Sundays service below.
Morning Prayer Wednesday 20th May
Dear all… It was a real treat to have 4 others join me in the church for prayer this morning. It was a strange experience to see people back in the pews worshiping, though a wonderful one. This video will be slightly different as I will now be filming the service from a different angle. I do hope that the audio is okay, but please let me know if there are any issues.
Please find this Wednesday’s service Below.
Morning Prayer 6th Sunday of Easter
Dear all. Hope you are all safe and well and enjoying the beautiful weather and some of the freedoms of Level 2. While we can’t meet in our usual way yet we are hoping that it is not too far off. In this weeks video I talk a little about what we will be looking to do in the coming weeks as well as our usual Sunday Morning Prayer service.
Wednesday Service 13th May
Hope this finds you safe and well. As you may have heard on Monday we are moving to Level 2 on Thursday. However churches won’t be moving back to normal for some weeks. We are still categorised as a social gathering and so are restricted to 10 people. There is an expectation that we may move back to being able to gather as a larger group by the 31st May. I will be sending out an email to see if we would be willing to gather as a group of 10 while we wait for any decisions. In the meantime I will still be putting out video worship services. Please find this Wednesday service below.
Morning Prayer 5th Sunday of Easter
Dear all… We have had some beautiful sunny days and I hope you were able to make the most of them. We are starting to get an idea of what Level 2 Lock down will look like and how it will effect us. Once we get confirmation on Monday about the move we will let you know asap what we will be doing as a parish, particularly around worship. So watch this space.
This week we continue to celebrate Easter with the 5th Sunday of Easter with Jesus as ‘the way, the truth and the life.’
Please find the service below.
Morning Prayer 4th Sunday in Easter
Well It feels today like winter might be on it’s way. I hope you are continuing to be safe and well in your bubbles. I have certainly noticed a lot more people out and about in the past week. We obviously continue in level 3 for at least another week but we will keep you updated about what Level 2 may look like for us as a Church as the week unfolds.
This week we continue to celebrate the 4th Sunday of Easter with the image of Jesus as Shepherd.
Please find the service below
Wednesday Service 29th April
I hope this finds you well. The weather is great and I hope you have felt a little easier as we have moved to level 3. I have to say I never thought I would be happy to hear the builders back next door early yesterday morning! However the sound of life has given me some hope that things may return back to normal.
Continue to stay safe and well.
Please find a service for Wednesday below.
Morning Prayer Easter 3A
I hope this finds you well. This Sunday we continue to celebrate the Resurrection with the 3rd Sunday of Easter and the story of the Emmaus Road. We also remembered ANZAC day on Saturday and so I have also included some prayers and remembrance in our Sunday Worship.
We move into Level 3 this week and though not much changes for us as a church community it may give some of you opportunity to expand your bubbles. Whatever you may be doing I pray that you will continue to remain safe and well as we all hope and pray for a swift end to this current crisis.
Please find the service below.
No video this Wednesday & The Anglican
Easter greetings. Due to some technical issues there is unfortunately no video this Wednesday. But there will certainly be one for Sunday worship, so look out for that.
Instead some of you may be interested in reading the Auckland Diocesan magazine the Anglican which can be found by clicking here.
I hope you and your families are all doing well.
Morning Prayer 2nd Sunday in Easter
Easter greetings to you. I hope this finds you all well as we continue to celebrate this Easter season.
Today we celebrate the 2nd Sunday in Easter which is also known as Low Sunday with a reflection on the disciple Thomas and his encounter with the risen Christ.
As a part of the video I give an update on the life of the parish especially as we look at moving into level 3 next week.

Easter Week Devotion 15th April
He is Risen! He is Risen indeed, Alleluia! Warm greetings in this Easter week. I hope you had a good Easter weekend with your bubble and were able to celebrate in your own way. I was able to connect with friends and family and find some joy in the small things.
Again thank you for your greetings over the past few days. I have gone for a more low key devotion this week as we continue to remember the Resurrection. I have done a devotion on the Gospel reading for today (15th April) which is Luke 24:13-35 the Emmaus story.
Please find the Devotion below.
Easter Sunday Service 2020
He is Risen! He is Risen indeed, Alleluia! Greetings to you all as we celebrate Easter Sunday. I hope you have a blessed day in whatever way you celebrate it. As we continue to grapple with the this lock-down period I hope that the Resurrection message will give you encouragement that life is greater than death and love greater than hate.

Good Friday Service 2020
Warm greetings to you all as we now move into the most holiest time in our Church year. I hope you are all continuing to cope well as we remain in quarantine. I pray that as we reflect on Jesus Christ’s death and Resurrection this weekend we find comfort and peace knowing that God is with us in the darkness of Good Friday through to the light of Easter Sunday.
It has been great to continue to connect with many of you over the phone, and I really appreciate all your messages of encouragement during this time. I want to thank you all for your continued support of the ministry of All Saints as we continue to spread the Gospel in our little part of Auckland.
Please find the Good Friday service below.
May you know the peace of God which passes all understanding this Easter.
Morning Prayer – Palm Sunday
I hope you are all coping well during this lock-down period. The hardest thing I know for many of us is to not be able to meet for worship as we head into Holy Week. I hope that the video I recorded for Palm Sunday may give you a sense of God’s presence and the presence of the Body of Christ, his Church this week. Please find Morning Prayer for Palm Sunday by clicking Here.
I will be making videos for the Easter weekend including Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
Of course one of the things we do on Palm Sunday is make Palm Crosses. You can do this at home with some flax or cabbage tree and an easy tutorial found here. And if you do make one you can keep it as a reminder for prayer as we head into Holy Week.
My continued thoughts and prayers for you all.
The Reverend Jordan Greatbatch
Morning Prayer – Wednesday 1st April
Well it is beautiful day outside as I sit here and write this to you. I hope you have had a moment to step out for a walk, get in the garden or sit in the sun.
Thank you to many of you for checking up to see if I am okay and the feedback on my videos, much appreciated. I am coping well at this stage. My thoughts are with the many of us who live alone and the impact that this may be having. I know many of you are calling to check in on people which is great. It has been fantastic to have chats with many of you over the past few days.
My video is out a little later today as I have been playing with the quality and recording. I think I have now found a good video application which offers much better quality.
Today I have lead us in morning prayer from the prayer book found on page 35. If you don’t have a NZ Prayer Book copy at home you can find it online at http://anglicanprayerbook.nz/
Or if you are passing by the church feel free to borrow a copy in the foyer.
Please find Morning Prayer for today by clicking here.
Morning Prayer – Fifth Sunday in Lent
Good morning on what is a beautiful Autumn day. Hope this finds you well as we continue to observe quarantine. If you are anything like me I am sure you have been out in the garden or doing some other job around the home. Or reading a good book!
This morning I lead us in morning prayer based on the readings for the Fifth Sunday in Lent.
The devotion is unfortunately in two parts due to some technical issues.
Please find the first part here
And the second part here.
God’s continued blessings to you all.
Devotions for Wednesday
My reflection is on the Annunciation which we celebrate on the 25th March. I hope you find it meaningful.
My apologies for the constant refocusing in the video. I am still working this thing out!
Devotions for Sunday
As we remain at home and miss our worship services tomorrow I have put together a video devotion based on Sundays readings. I hope to put these out regularly as long as our services are cancelled.
I have uploaded the video to my YouTube channel and it can be found by clicking here.
May you continue to know God’s peace at this time.
Jordan , Vicar
The Archbishops of New Zealand have made the decision to cancel all worship services from 7pm Sunday 22nd March until further notice. (this can be viewed on the Anglican Taonga site – click here)
In response to this the Wardens and I have made the difficult decision to cancel all worship services this Sunday 22nd March 8am, 9.30am and the contemplative service. We understand this is going beyond what is allowed but we feel that as the cases of Coronovirus accelerate we do not want to put any of our parishioners at risk. Especially those who are vulnerable to such a virus.
So it is with heavy hearts that we won’t be gathering to worship together but there are some resources and ways that we can do some online services and devotions. I will be sending these out in the next few days. We will also look to develop a phone tree as a means to keep in touch and support each other.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. Please keep safe and well. – Jordan
